west palm beach 7/17
ok, last night was mindblowing. i fucken got you never know the night before, i could not fucken believe it!!! carter started and i was screaming, no one around me had a clue why i was screaming (i get that alot in general).
but last night, we snuck up closer, careful not to be impeding anyone's space. this was the best crowd i had ever been around. we were all dancing in the aisles, with each other, new friends, smiles hugs, shared drinks. one guy who was like 55 was drunk or high or both and he was dancing around, doing a cross between the typewriter and the chicken dance. but he was having a good good time. dave even saw him and grinned. the boys could see what a great time we all were having. the energy was unreal. i danced so much, with people i'll never see again. we all were loving it. betsy and i brought signs: "WHO'S YOUR DADDY?" and "SEXUAL TENSION TOUR" that i had in raleigh. we got smiles again. dave acknowledged the sign at the beginning of the show, as did butch. butch got all excited and waved, i think he recognized the sign from raleigh. and god the music and the love; at the risk of sounding like a complete stoner/hippy, it was like we were all one body, the crowd, and we were making love to the band; figuratively of course. there were no boundaries separating ourselves from one another; we joined to become one for the evening. it was blissful. exerting. rewarding. satiating. mindblowing. exhilerating.
for the encore, we got to the front of the barrier and held our signs up. carter pointed and laughed, fonzie nodded and blinked (of course!), butch pointed at us (we were like 25 feet directly in front of him) as if to say, "oh, you got front row!" boyd smiled too (although betsy had to tell me this, i missed it). then they started with hunger, bastards. very appropriate for our signage. i held my sign on the other side of the barrier so they could read it, but so i wasn't obstructing anyone's view. while dave was singing (i think it was "oooh great light of love" or "you know i need you") dave gave me a raised eyebrow look towards me and the sign. fucker!!!! and when "dirty girl" was sung, butch smiled at me and stuck his tongue out (not sicko-like, more playful). he was a fun flirt. dave was sweating so much, with a thin blue tshirt sop and wet. i just watched him for a while to soak it up in my head. what you are was kickass, as it usually is. i dig the longer intro so much. at the end, butch waved at us, i indicated that i was going to throw him the sign and he came closer. i tossed it and he picked it up and waved it at me!!! then he took it back to carter where they both looked at it and laughed. didn't get any carter sticks, but that's ok, they know i love them. but this is all i can remember for now. if anything else pops in, or if betsy reminds me of anything else, i'll add it.
wow.
