west palm beach 7/17
ok, last night was mindblowing. i fucken got you never know the night before, i could not fucken believe it!!! carter started and i was screaming, no one around me had a clue why i was screaming (i get that alot in general).
but last night, we snuck up closer, careful not to be impeding anyone's space. this was the best crowd i had ever been around. we were all dancing in the aisles, with each other, new friends, smiles hugs, shared drinks. one guy who was like 55 was drunk or high or both and he was dancing around, doing a cross between the typewriter and the chicken dance. but he was having a good good time. dave even saw him and grinned. the boys could see what a great time we all were having. the energy was unreal. i danced so much, with people i'll never see again. we all were loving it. betsy and i brought signs: "WHO'S YOUR DADDY?" and "SEXUAL TENSION TOUR" that i had in raleigh. we got smiles again. dave acknowledged the sign at the beginning of the show, as did butch. butch got all excited and waved, i think he recognized the sign from raleigh. and god the music and the love; at the risk of sounding like a complete stoner/hippy, it was like we were all one body, the crowd, and we were making love to the band; figuratively of course. there were no boundaries separating ourselves from one another; we joined to become one for the evening. it was blissful. exerting. rewarding. satiating. mindblowing. exhilerating.
for the encore, we got to the front of the barrier and held our signs up. carter pointed and laughed, fonzie nodded and blinked (of course!), butch pointed at us (we were like 25 feet directly in front of him) as if to say, "oh, you got front row!" boyd smiled too (although betsy had to tell me this, i missed it). then they started with hunger, bastards. very appropriate for our signage. i held my sign on the other side of the barrier so they could read it, but so i wasn't obstructing anyone's view. while dave was singing (i think it was "oooh great light of love" or "you know i need you") dave gave me a raised eyebrow look towards me and the sign. fucker!!!! and when "dirty girl" was sung, butch smiled at me and stuck his tongue out (not sicko-like, more playful). he was a fun flirt. dave was sweating so much, with a thin blue tshirt sop and wet. i just watched him for a while to soak it up in my head. what you are was kickass, as it usually is. i dig the longer intro so much. at the end, butch waved at us, i indicated that i was going to throw him the sign and he came closer. i tossed it and he picked it up and waved it at me!!! then he took it back to carter where they both looked at it and laughed. didn't get any carter sticks, but that's ok, they know i love them. but this is all i can remember for now. if anything else pops in, or if betsy reminds me of anything else, i'll add it.
wow.

addendum to raleigh show
i got some long long looks with fonzie...most just playful, but one felt long and full of tension. i almost had to look away, i felt my face blushing, but i made myself not look away. eventually fonzie smiled, blinked, and broke the stare. e squeezed my arm, and i almost fell over. i guess he saw the "sexual tension tour dmb 2005" sign, next to "who's your daddy" that e was holding. i did get a few glances from dave, but i think most were for e. oh, when the boys came out, dave saw our posters, laughed and pointed, went over to carter, who looked over as dave pointed again, and they both had a good belly laugh. then stefan saw the sign and smiled and nodded. we then tried to woo roi, but he wasn't having it. he kept such a straight face. then we moved onto butch, who smiled, pointed at himself as if to say "me?" and we pointed at him and said, yeah, you! and he waved and smiled so big. we would occassionally hold up the signs after sexy songs, and again at the begining of the encore. fonzie looked at me again, and mouthed "that's hot" and i blushed again. he knows what the band is doing to the ladies. after the show, we got waves from dave, fonzie, and butch as he walked off stage; butch especially wanted to make sure we saw him wave bye. it was all so sureal. and unreal, and incredible, and perfect. it did make it hard to say goodbye tho...although i would not trade it for anything.

we had 3rd row seats in front of fonzie and roi. we brought our signs: "who's your daddy?" and "sexual tension tour dmb 2005" and "dance too much booty in the pants." the boys loved loved loved them. lots of dave, carter, butch, and stefan love for the signs. e gots dave love, and i got stefan love. lots of love.
Don’t Drink the Water -i love this for an openner! always good energy!
American Baby -wails from dave "i hope you stay american baby" over and over again. god that man knows how to yank your soul out. and i think it was during this song that dave closed his eyes and was strumming the guitar over by butch, making what i believe heather refers to as dave's sex/orgasm face. wow, was that a nice face.
Everyday -i LOVE this, love singing the hani hani's with the crowd. i love watching dave smile from the audience participation. i think he learned to do that from trey.
Hello Again -good song
#41 -holyshit, my first #41!!! i was so hoping for this! earlier in the day, terri got a beeper from panera bread with #41 on it, and we took it as a sign. terri and raliegh and #41 are a great match!
Hunger For The Great Light -we held our signs up after this and got devilish grins from dave. it may have been during this song that stefan and i had our long glance. i don't remember much about what song i was hearing when that happened.
Dream Girl -love love love what they are doing with this song!!!!!!!!! yeaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh
Louisiana Bayou -so much fun!!!
Typical Situation -ooooh, what a surprise! i thjink it was my first time hearing that one too! i love how mellow it is, and then revs up for a little and then chills out again!
Steady As We Go -i tried to call billy for this, buy my phone wouldn't dial out. and the night before, my phone was dead, so i didn't get to make any more concert calls. booo. but a beautiful song.
Say Goodbye -AFUCKENGAIN???? are you kidding me? i teased elisa that it was because he was singing it for her. and boy did he ever look at her during that song. i'd like to think at one time i got some glances for my sign too. and i think i did, but it may have only been b/c he was wondering who that crazy girl with elisa was. i dont' care, i'll take any attention i can get from dave...yup, i'm desperate!
Smooth Rider -ooh, goodie, i had wanted to hear this one! rich, growly dave...hungry. wow, what a hornball...ashley needs to come and see him to save us all.
Crash-i always love a good crash. i know it's not cool to like it b/c it's a radio song, but it is a beautiful tune! so much passion, yearning, wanting, desiring. poor dave, missing his lady love.
Joy Ride [tease] -i COMPLETELY did not hear this. i heard the woos, i think b/c we were so close, the speakers didn't hit us acoustically for something being played so lightly. good thing, i would've freaked out.
Stand Up -it is a fun one to dance too.
All Along The Watchtower -i like this in the main show rather than the encore for some reason...b/c i am then guessing what it will be i think. i remember screaming "fire" and hearing roi and thinking "oh shit, it's almost done." and then chiding myself and enjoying the song again.
Encore:
You Might Die Trying -good. before starting this song, the boys came back out, we had our signs in place, getting our love again from the boys. fonzie mouthed "that's hot" to me, and i blushed b/c i am an ass. but i loved it.
Ants Marching -wooofuckenhoooo! ants is always so much fun, i love singing along and it ending on "lights down, you up and die" with carter beating the shit out of the drums. fonzie smiled at us, dave did, butch made sure we saw him as he exited off the opposite side of the stage in front of us and he waved. carter passed us by for drumsticks, hmph! we were standing on the chairs, a foot or so above everyone with "who's your daddy" and he missed us?????? dude needs glasses! but i was glowing after that. wow wow wow. it sure did make it hard to go back to real life after some mind blowing shows like that. wow wow wow!!!!
so the next day we woke up and went back to terri's where we chilled with ben, chel, and bill too adn watched napolean dynamite and sixteen candles. ben was so cute, sharing a pillow with me for a short time...i wanted to play with his beautiful blond curly locks like i do with evan. and chel is such a pretty young lady, i cannot believe how grown up she looks. poor chel, she's understanding all too well about the pdmb-d. terri's family is so sweet and beautiful! but i'm not surprised; terri is so sweet and beautiful too!

we had fucken 2nd row center. CENTER MOTHERFUCKERS. holyshit. shit shit shit. could see sweat dripping off dave, see the wrinkles in his forehead when he say, every little face he made. every smile, every time he closed his eyes, every lustful face. wow. just. wow.
One Sweet World -good lord i cannot believe i am this close. woah. and he's singing. what's that he's singing? i think i was numb at first.
Hunger For The Great Light -he truley is starting an evening of aiming to kill us. this is what show prompted the sexual tension tour dmb 2005 sign for the next night. you'll see what i mean soon. god he was eating us up during that song. he was waaaaay too sexy for his own good. he clearly knows he drives the ladies nuts, and enjoys it. fucken tease.
What Would You Say -super fun dancing song. i love a little old school too.
Crush -the second of many to come. god this man is so sexy. "my love, my love, we'll beat back the pain we've found, you know, i mean to tell you all the things i've been thinking love, deep inside my head." such a sweet love song.
Time Of The Season -what's your name? who's your daddy? is he rich like me???? wtf?? so fucken awesome, i had given up hope of ever hearing this live. wow. just wow. i know dave looked at us during one "who's your daddy." how i didn't pass out is beyond me. fucker.
Say Goodbye -AIMING TO KILL ME. again?? we are lucky enough to get this gem again?? are you kidding me? to hear "and in your eyes, i see what's on my mind. you got me wild, turned around inside. and desire, is creeping up heavy, inside here." hot. hot. god, he was hot.
You Might Die Trying -glad to get off the sexual stuff for a moment.
Louisiana Bayou -such a fun crowd participation song. i soo enjoy this one!!!!
Dream Girl -follow the sweat down your spine. i love the little change up they did, doing the harmonizing midway through the song again. i love to witness experimentations like that!
Dancing Nancies -i love to close my eyes and look up and dance to this song. nancies is always welcomed by me. sing and dance, lalala hey...
Lover Lay Down -good lord, why?? so beautiful. i picture him singing this ballad to ashley as they relax in bed. just wow.
Rapunzel -AUUUUGGGGGHHHH! the seventh fucking song this show about love/lust/sex???? their energy was INCREDIBLE. they were loving what they were doing. and i loved witnessing that.
Out Of My Hands -still hit me hard this time too. i could see him so close, still kicking the wind out of me. so brilliant.
Stand Up -still so much fun. a band fave for sure!!!! they love screaming stand up! and i love that roi is the one who says "get up yall!!" in the beginning.
Two Step -do i need to tell you that i love to hear this? i distinctly remember during the song closing my eyes and just being the music. i could hear all of them doing their thing, each adding a part, to make it whole, and here i was adding to it to make it whole as well, to recieve it, process it, and give it back to them. i felt i was part of the show, in it. it was so invigorating. god i love this band. so much. wow. wow.
Encore:
Old Dirt Hill -i LOVED how at the end they (dave, carter, butch) sing acapella for a few times through. it made my hair stand on end. i think this is a sweet song of childhood. "bring that beat back to me again."
What You Are -very eerie beginning, lots of dave noises, i got goosebumps so bad. and i always love the "get down on your knees motherfucker" part, very solid close to a sexually charged show. somehow wya is kinda sexy to me, although i don't know why; must be the rage and passion in dave's voice.
my dreams that night came hard for obvious reasons. off to raleigh and my last night of good seats :-(

i am going to try to remember this the best i can. we had 4th row on fonzie's side.
Dream Girl-elisa had a dream that this was going to be the openner the night before! and as they were warming up, i heard it, and i called it. it was a perfect first song to start off my tour. it's easily becoming a favorite of mine live off the new album. i love the african sounding harmony among dave, butch, and carter...i had no idea that it was them on the album! i thought it was some african choir or something. god that was so hot to realize it was them.
One Sweet World -who doesn't love this one??? i love roi on this. he's such a badass.
Don’t Drink the Water -i love the passion in dave's voice in this. i always have loved this one live...i love how it sounds like it's kinda chaotic and dissonate, but at the same time so beautiful.
Hunger For The Great Light -the boys REALLY love this live. and they know that it drives the girls nuts. i looked at fonzie and shook my head at him and he smiled. the crowd loves this as well.
Say Goodbye -well, we had heard they sound checked this today, but i dont' think any one of us actually believed it would be played for us. carter started on the drums, e and i looked at each other and were like, NO WAY. holyshitmotherofgod. how sweet is was. dave stumbled a little on the words (shit, he could stumble on me all he wanted), but no matter. the crowd went apeshit. i think e called angela and i called steph.
Too Much -i love this live. i love the funk sound fonzie provides on the bass. so much energy energy energy!!!!!!!
Out Of My Hands -this one hit me like a ton of bricks. it was so quiet when it started, and alot of annoying people started talking, but i held my breath, moved slightly, and held my chest as if my heart hurt. it FELT as if my heart hurt. dave looked so sad and dispaired singing it. he can really throw himself into a character, not that i believe he was faking it, but i believe he was able to take himself back to when he wrote the words. i wanted to go up to him, hug him, hold him, rock him, tell him it would be ok. i loved how the bass and drums slowly emerged while dave singing and butch playing were the main instruments. the feeling was so intense, so engraved in my memory, i will never forget hearing that for the first time.
Grey Street-i always love me some grey street. a 12 string is always a treat!
Steady As We Go -this is such a beautiful song, so pure, so true to love. i called jodi b/c i remember her mentioning this song as having special meaning to her. it has also brought special meaning for billy and i; "when you don't say a word and you know exactly what i mean."
Hello Again -a crowd fave easily!!!
You Might Die Trying -this song is growing on me. great live!!
Where Are You Going -thank god for a breather!! poor elisa was hacking up a lung at this point. dave was trying to kill her.
Warehouse -woo! wooo! fonzie's tricepts--woo!! i do love me some warehouse. i love how crazy the band gets about this one!
Stolen Away On 55th & 3rd -dave sits down, i don't know why since he bounces his legs everywhere (not that it bothered me!). i will forever think of chelsea when i hear this song. it kinda makes me melancollie, i don't know why...like reminiscent of a lost love..ok that's rather obvious why i feel that way! what could have been kinda thing. i think e told me that dave's legs are like that when he's at a bar on a stool, practically knocking them over. lucky bar stools.
Stand Up *-holyfcjuuckendshit. Robert fucken randolf. e and i went nuts when they moved the steel guitar out on stage. totally unexpected!!!! he is a crazy muthafucka! the boys love love love him, and it shows with their admiration for his playing. dave was all over him. i LOVE RR! the boys like playing this one too, and the crowd really got into it.
Louisiana Bayou *-do i really need to tell you how great this was????????? crowd fave easily. have i said that enough?
Encore:
American Baby -good live!
All Along The Watchtower *-it sucked. hahaha, totally kidding!!!!!! as if! nuts nuts nuts, chaos, strings, horns, guitar, RR dancing, licking, playing with his foot, screaming, drums, drums, "fire! fire! fire!" oh wow. very orgasmic. great first show for me.
Special Guests:
* Robert Randolph
i drove back to charlottesville that night. we had gone to millers, to another bar (i can't remember the name) where a great blues band was jamming. we saw the pink warehouse, and some other little things that are meaningful to me. next show, charlotte.

Encore:
